Skiing holiday in Sölden
Record-breaking! The ski area of Sölden has over 30 lifts, 144 km of blue, red and black runs, 2 galciers, 3 reachable peaks of over 3000m high. And over 30 huts and restaurants. The first class infrastructure from base to mountain and the snow guarantee from December to April provides the ideal requirements for ambitious ski or snowboarders.
Families and beginners are advised and looked after professionally in any of the many ski schools and childrens ski areas. The ledgendary night skiing takes place once a week, where the slopes are floodlit above an evening view over the town. Within minutes of Haus Hugo you can reach the Giggijoch lift station. The ski bus stop is situated 80m from the house.
Winter activities in Sölden
Although Sölden is most famously known for its skiing, there are many other winter activities on offer. Winter walking on the quiet side of Sölden, the tracks wind through majestic snow-covered forests and slopes up to old fashioned huts and restaurants. Traditional delicacies, Ötztaler hospitality and picturesque views make the upward climb worthwhile. Strengthend and impressed by the beauty it’s all downhill either on foot or by toboggan. Tobogganing in Sölden is possible on the new toboggan run „Stiegele“. The run is 7km long and starts at the middle station of the Gaislachkogel lift and winds ist way through mountain scenary as far as the eye can see. Well recommended!
Three tracks for classic cross country skiing or skating are also available in Sölden. More tracks can be found in nearby areas such as Zwieselstein, Gurgl or further down the valley in Längenfeld. Sölden’s outdoor ice rink is available most evenings for ice skating, ice hockey and curling. The adventure swimmimg pool and saunas in the Freizeit Arena are great for bad weather or an evening after an action packed day on the slopes. All guests of Haus Hugo can use the facilites in the Freizeit Arena in winter free of charge.
